With the global economy in full effect, it seems that the world is continuously shrinking. Cultural differences have been reduced to all time lows allowing citizens of most countries (with the exception of those countries with drastic internal issues) to travel freely around the globe without fear.
The new Google Pixel Buds have managed to make that ever-shrinking planet even smaller. Along with several other capabilities including Google Assistant, the Pixel Buds support Google Translate, allowing the buds to translate forty (40) different languages.
The spoken words enter the exterior microphone on the buds, the words are translated, and the translated words enter the user’s ears in the language they have pre-set. While this does not account for speaking the native language of the country you are visiting, it surely will improve your ability to understand what is going on around you.
The technology is still relatively new and there is always room for improvement, but Google’s use of a translator in an ear bud is the latest-and-greatest in wearable technology.
The Pixel Buds retail at $159.00 and are available for pre-order now in the Google Store.
